Its turbo-charged intercooled 640 horsepower 6.2liter V-8 delivers a thrilling 0-100 in 8.1seconds. Accelerating from 60-100mph, the 8gear automatic transmission seamlessly gears up in a heart-pounding 3.9seconds.
Rear wheel drive powers the new engine to 630 lbs ft. of torque, while the magnetorheological suspension makes the car slightly understeer, which is good with this kind of power. But it also makes the ride surprisingly comfortable.

Talk about a high-performance super sedan -this is it!
The Cadillac CTS-V Sedan drives like a hungry lion, but it handles like a lamb.
2009 saw the introduction of the CTS-V 4-door powered by a 6-speed transmission and a new 6.2liter V8 supercharged engine. The engine significantly improved acceleration in 0-60 tests while pushing the maximum speed to 198mph.
The next generation benefited from adaptive suspension using magnetorheological dampers that support the sports attributes while also maintaining a comfortable ride. New brakes from Bremko aided safety in slowing this beast’s wild heart. The car’s interior also underwent an updated design using Alcantara accents, sports seats, racing details, and of course the vaunted Cadillac luxury package.
In 2011 the CTS-V Sports Wagon was unveiled to fanfare. Sharing the wheelbase and core elements of the sedan, as it was touted as the top performing luxury wagon in the US.
That same year saw the arrival of a CTS-V Coupe, following in the footsteps and mechanics of the sedan. Other than its striking raked windshield, lowered roofline, and lower profile, it had the same statistics as its older brethren.
CTS-V designs lasted through 2014, but in 2015, CTS-V Coupe was the only model kept intact.
The way the CTS-V Sedan dives into turns and accelerates out of the corner with gusto makes this car a real pleasure to drive. At once it’s an instrument of precise high-speed driving, while at the other it’s a tire burning brute, ready and willing to offer you everything it has at any time. The magnetorheological dampers give the CTS-V superlative chassis control while making rough roads a soft ride.
Whether speeding full throttle or running errands around town, sitting in the CTS-V Sedan is comfortable on Recaro seats and with a luxurious interior, its pure joy.
Don’t forget the slipstream gorgeous angular design that’s in keeping with its CTS roots.
To take full advantage of bragging rights, Cadillac says it can outduel all its competitors.
What makes this humming tour-de-force so great? Start with a rocket like a turbo intercooled V8 engine that throws 640 hp onto the back wheels for an exhilarating 0-60 mph in 3.6 seconds. Follow that up with an advanced chassis, magnetorheological dampers in the suspension that let you slice through corners as if you’re on rails, while also giving the driver a staggering amount of information, more than other luxury autos.
BTW, it costs less too.
