It might be difficult to reproduce official Toyota Corolla 0-60 times driving your own car, as measuring accuracy of Toyota Corolla acceleration from 0 to 60 depends on the transmission type or such variables as wind, weather conditions, tire traction or even weight of the rim. For the safety of the public, 0-60 times are often recorded by professional drivers on the closed racing tracks or dragstrips.

The good news is you can always soup up your car to have the best drag times. The easiest way is chip-tuning. The Engine of Toyota Corolla is equipped with an engine management system (EMS)/Engine Control Unit (ECU) which can be modified to different settings, producing different performance levels and boosting Corolla\'s horsepower.

Right now we are well on course to post the data on transmission and engine on the Toyota Corolla acceleration page of our website. We also have plans to make it possible for any visitor of the website to add their own custom data on Toyota Corolla acceleration.

The Japanese make debut 50 years ago and was sold from 1966 to today more than 44 million times worldwide. Of course in many car body variants. With an unbelievable variety of engines, initially with rear-wheel drive, from 1983 with front-wheel drive and in so far eleven model generations. But what always remained the same was the name and the claim to be a "car for all", as it was already mentioned in the first advertising section.

Globally speaking, this still works today. In China, Toyota sold around 280,000 Corolla models in the first eleven months of the past year, in the US a good 331,000 and thus more cars than VW could mark as a brand in the same period overall (285,719). In 2015, according to the Toyota sales department, an average of 3670 Corolla models were sold worldwide every day. From a German perspective, this sounds like a different planet. For this reason, only about 340 specimens of the compact sedan were registered in 2016. We were on the road with one of them.

After a short time and a few kilometers, you start to guess what it is that this car is almost everywhere in the world, but in Germany hardly anyone is interested. And this has less to do with the car itself than with the specific demands that many car sellers have developed here. At the measured, the Corolla is an insignificant boring. Similar to the types, who lean on the doorstep for hours on the doorstep and never put a foot on the dance floor, let alone start a conversation.

The joke is obvious that cars are seen in many parts of the world just like this. Just as a commodity, similarly exciting as a TV or a toaster. Normal car makers from these regions expect reliability and durability from their cars - and the Corolla has earned an excellent reputation in both categories over the past fifty years.

If you spend only a few days by car, of course, can not be proven. But it is already noticeable that processing and interior design are not so much the appearance of the illusion, but the substance. The interior is simple, simple and basic. The center console is narrow and flat, there is also a classic handbrake lever and the footwell in the rear is almost flat, which makes the use of the rear center plaza much more comfortable than in cars with a continuous tunnel.

Toyota had us as a test car the "executive" version of the Corolla adjusted, thus the car with top equipment. This also includes heatable front seats, but apparently hardly ever a customer ordered - why else the operating buttons should be hidden under the ashtray flap? It is also annoying that the complete operation of the music system works via the large central touch screen. Even simple simple handling of the headphones, such as the loud-up or power-up of the radio, now requires repeated touching of the corresponding touch surfaces - hardly annoying. The only way out is to use the steering wheel buttons.

The only engine for the Toyota Corolla is a four-cylinder gasoline engine with 1.6 liters displacement and 132 hp. The maximum torque is 160 Nm at 4400 tours. A 6-speed manual gearbox or a multidrive automatic with five speeds is offered as an option. The standard consumption is in the shifting version between 6.0 liters and 6.3 liters, with the automatic version between 5.6 liters and 6.1 liters. The automatic version also has emissions of 129 g / km to 142 g / km of CO2, which is equivalent to emissions of 139 g / km to 144 g / km of CO2. The shifting version offers slightly better driving speeds of 10.0 seconds for the spurt at 60 miles and 200 km / h top speed.
